The hairdressing trade, however, is a licensed craft: Anyone running a hairdressing business in Germany needs to be registered with the Chamber of Crafts (Handwerksordnung, Annex A No. 38). Die Männer Werkstatt is licensed and registered with the Chamber of Crafts and registered as a training business – we train the next generation of hairdressers ourselves. Only trained hairdressers and master hairdressers cut here, with massage basins, colour technique and perms (“Miami Vice”, “Die Welle”) instead of just clippers and a razor. You still get the barbershop feeling: brick wall, retro furniture, beer in the fridge.
