Removing back hair as a man? If you want it to stay smooth for longer and don’t want to contort yourself with a razor over your own shoulder, waxing is the Werkstatt solution. The hair comes out with the root, and the skin usually stays smooth for at least several weeks. Shaving is quicker and stings less, but doesn’t last as long. We don’t offer laser. Waxing, shaving or laser: the comparison at a glance
There are different ways to a smooth back and chest. The difference lies in what happens to the hair and how long the result lasts. And in who does the work.

Waxing is what we deal with every day, so that is mainly what the rest is about.
Removing back and chest hair with waxing: how it works
In waxing, wax is applied to the skin, and the hairs underneath come out with it, complete with the root. You feel that more than a shave. In return, the result lasts much longer.
How your appointment works:
- Own room: All waxing treatments at our place take place in a separate room, out of sight. Topless doesn’t mean in front of an audience here.
- The right hair length: The hair should be 0.5 to 1 cm long. So don’t shave beforehand, otherwise the wax can’t get a grip.
- The right wax: We work with a skin-friendly cold wax and, depending on the treatment, hot wax as well. Your beautician decides which goes where.
- Zones of your choice: Back alone, stomach and chest alone, both together, or straight on to the legs.
On our price list it sounds like this: “Your back as smooth as the base of your skis.” And for chest and back together: “Topless for the man: chest, six-pack and back as good as new.”

Shaving: quick to do, quick to come back
With a razor you get to a smooth chest fastest. It is less noticeable than waxing and is in the bathroom anyway. The catch: the hair is only cut off at the surface and is correspondingly quick to come back.
On the back there is a practical problem as well. You can hardly reach large parts of it alone, and what you can’t see you don’t shave evenly either. Without help it turns out patchy.
And if you already wax and shave in between after all, you reset your service interval. The hair is then too short for the next waxing, so you have to wait until it is 0.5 to 1 cm long again.
Laser: not with us, so no promises
Laser hair removal is not part of our offer. If you are interested in it, get advice from a provider who works with it.

How long does waxing last on the back?
As a rule, at least several weeks. Because the hair is removed with the root, it takes much longer than after a shave for anything to come back.
With regular waxing, the hair can also become finer and less noticeable. How quickly it grows back with you is individual. It is therefore best to set your service interval after the first appointment, so that you come back when the hair has reached the necessary 0.5 to 1 cm.

After the appointment
Slight redness is normal and usually gone after a few days. In the days after waxing, the following applies:
- no sunbed,
- no strong deodorant on the freshly waxed areas,
- take it easy on sport if possible, because sweat puts extra stress on the skin.
If you have a beach holiday or a big appearance afterwards, allow a few days’ buffer. And if an area doesn’t settle down, it’s better to see a dermatologist.

“WAX Back” costs €49 with us and takes 20 minutes. Chest and back together are available as “WAX Front & Back” for €98 in 40 minutes. The complete package “WAX the Man” with chest, stomach, back and legs costs €139 and takes 60 minutes. The prices apply at both studios.
Can I have my legs waxed at the same time?
Yes. Either you book “WAX the Man”, that is chest, stomach, back and legs in one appointment, 60 minutes for €139. Or you combine individual zones, for example “WAX Back” for €49 and “WAX Legs – Legs” for €59. Which combination fits, you can see directly in the online booking at your studio.
Can’t I simply shave my chest hair?
Sure, you can. Shaving is quick and less noticeable than waxing, but the hair is only cut off at the surface and is correspondingly quick to come back. With waxing it comes out with the root, and the chest usually stays smooth for at least several weeks. If you want to wax later, the hair needs to be 0.5 to 1 cm long again.
