In a facial cleansing for men, the skin is first cleansed, then deep-cleansed and extracted, and finally cared for, matched to your skin type. What is done in a facial treatment?
A Facial treatment for men in Munich follows a fixed schedule at the Werkstatt. How many stations you take along depends on the package. The order is always similar:
- Assessment and consultation: Your beautician looks at your skin and determines the skin type. That decides which care and which steps suit today. At the Werkstatt, this stocktake is called the “assessment”.
- Cleansing: Skin and pores are cleansed, with cotton pads, sponges or special cosmetic wipes.
- Deep cleansing: The actual treatment often begins with microdermabrasion. The top layer of skin is removed very finely with crystals.
- Extractions: Impurities in the pores are removed. Not in every package: “Start your Engine” is without extractions.
- Mask and/or massage: Depending on the package, a face mask follows, a massage or both. This is where you can close your eyes.
- Care to finish: Depending on the package there is a concentrate or finishing care, so the skin leaves the appointment well nourished.
Sounds like a lot? That’s why our packages are named like driving modes, from “Start your Engine” to “Track Mode”. The higher the gear, the more stations.
Beforehand: shave, yes or no?
Preferably yes. For a facial treatment the skin should be as smooth as possible and free of beard hair, otherwise the care doesn’t get to where it’s supposed to. Do you wear a beard and want to keep it? Then mention that straight away in the assessment.
You don’t need to prepare anything else. Come as you are.
Which package suits a start?
For the first appointment we recommend “Start your Engine”. That is our express time-out for anyone who is daring to try it and in a hurry: without devices, but with high-quality products that suit your skin. “Start your Engine” is without extractions. If you want extractions, start with “Comfort Mode”. If you want more straight away, enter one gear higher:

What does a facial cleansing for men cost?
At the Männer Werkstatt, a facial cleansing costs between €119 and €219. For €119 you get “Comfort Mode”, for €219 the “Track Mode” with 90 minutes. “Start your Engine” (€59, 30 minutes) is without extractions and not a facial cleansing.
The price depends on the time and the stations. The first facial treatment with extractions is “Comfort Mode” (€119, 50 min.). From here on deep cleansing with microdermabrasion is included, and in “Sport Mode” (€169, 70 min.) both extractions and massage are part of it. AQAFACIAL™ starts at €99 for the “eyeBOOST” at the eye area, for the whole face between €169 and €349. You can add individual extras, such as a spirulina face mask for €25 (10 min.).
When you compare offers, check whether pore extraction is really included. In some offers, “facial cleansing” only means cleansing and a mask.
Which facial treatment is the most effective?
That can’t be said across the board. It depends on what you want and on what your skin needs right now. The assessment before each appointment clarifies that.
A few reference points from the Werkstatt: if you mainly care about clean pores, a package with extractions such as “Comfort Mode” or “Sport Mode” is the obvious choice. If you want cleansing and moisture in one appointment, a good fit is AQAFACIAL™ for men in Munich. And one more thing. Even a good treatment achieves little if it stays a one-off. More on that below under service interval.
Does it hurt, and can you see it afterwards?
Deep cleansing with microdermabrasion is gentle and almost painless. If something is uncomfortable anyway, say so. That is what your beautician is there for.
Depending on skin type, slight irritation and redness can occur straight after the treatment. Sauna or sunbed straight afterwards are not a good idea, because both put extra stress on freshly treated skin. If you have an important appointment later the same day, mention it during the assessment and the treatment will be planned accordingly.
How often should you have a facial treatment?
Does a single appointment achieve anything? Yes. After the first pit stop the skin feels cared for and looks fresher. One client summed it up in his review after a facial treatment: “Immediate, very positive effect!”
It only really pays off if you keep it up, though. Some treatments are designed as a series from the start. At our place, microneedling is available as the “Forever Young” 6-session course (€1,026, 50 minutes per appointment).
How often exactly depends on your skin, your goal and the package. Your beautician sets your interval after the assessment. Ask about it at the end of the appointment and book the next one straight away.

It cleanses, gently exfoliates, extracts the pores by suction and supplies the skin with moisture and serums, based on a technology developed by the Männer Werkstatt specifically for men.
How long does a facial cleansing take?
Between 50 and 90 minutes, depending on the package. “Comfort Mode” takes 50 minutes, “Sport Mode” 70 and “Track Mode” 90. “Start your Engine” (30 minutes) is without extractions and not a facial cleansing. Allow a few minutes extra for arriving and a drink.
